Misfit Minute – Cut your fabric softener costs in half

Misfit Minute – tips and tricks to help you navigate life… one minute at a time

This is especially great for ‘he’ (high efficiency) washing machines…

Misfit Minute

Using less water in high efficiency machines means that fabric softeners do not fully dilute into your clothes. This leaves a great deal of softener to get drained out and it coats the lines (this happened to my new washer). The softener clogs up causing slow drainage, but worse – you could eventually see the water backing up all over your wonderful hard wood floor or linoleum. Since I started doing this, I have had clean drain lines and no problems….

Pre-dilute your fabric softener by mixing equal parts of softener to water. It will soak more efficiently into your clothes (we LOVE that soft, fresh smell….). It will not clog your drain lines (which costs money to fix), and it will leave more money in your wallet (for more IMPORTANT things).
